This is one of the things — aside from the amazing location — that makes the place so fun.
When I first came out, drag bothered me because I thought my straight friends would look at it and think I wanted to be a girl.
Now I realize how ridiculous that was. Totally wasted energy. If any straight person is that stupid, who wants to be friends with them anyway?
And what is so bad about being a girl anyway? Dressing up as one doesn’t make you one, but who the fuck cares if it did? To each his (or her) own.
I’d be worried if people thought I wanted to be a Tea Partier or wife beater or bigot.
I remember how far in the future this seemed when this movie was released
